Monique Herbin-Smith

Hello Friends!

My name is Monique. I want to help you care for your hair and help you learn the way it moves whether that’s embracing its natural texture or forming your specific look. I am dedicated to using only the highest quality products and I take the time to listen to my clients’ individual needs to create a customized game plan for achieving their hair goals. If you’re searching for a stylist, I would be delighted to discuss your hair care concerns and collaborate with you to create your perfect look.

                                                                      My Journey

I was born in San Diego, California. I attended the Palomar Institute of Cosmetology located in San Marcos, California. I graduated in 2010 and I'm a professionally licensed hair artist. My passion lies in providing my clients with beautiful, natural-looking hair, or specially contoured abstract looks that complements their unique style and personality.

After graduating and passing state boards, I assisted the owner of "Gracy Element Spa" where I picked up my love and skills for the round brush blowout. This really aided me when I went on to my next adventure at a blow-dry bar called “BlowPop”. BlowPop was located in the now shutdown iconic Horton Plaza mall in the heart of downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp District.

My next hair opportunity lead me up to Los Angeles where I started working at “The Cottage” on Robertson blvd, which is now called "Asher Morgan Salon". There, I assisted Chris Bailey, one of the coolest past bosses I have had. My salon family there was filled with some of the most wonderful, incredibly talented stylist and amazing clients. I will never forget where some life long lasting bonds and friendship were made!

When I first moved back to San Diego, I started assisting at a salon located in Rancho Santa Fe called "Studio Savvy".

A very short time after I started, the roller coaster called Covid 19 happened. That was hard on everyone with the shutdowns.

Now, in San Diego, I am doing hair at "Final Cuts Studio" on Balboa Avenue in the Kearny Mesa area and when I am in Los Angeles taking care of clients, you can find me at my home salon "Frankies Salon" on Charleville Avenue.

I can’t wait and look forward to what’s next!?!
